Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening - By Robert Frost

One of my favorite poems of all times - I had to memorize it in the 4th grade for a project.  I've really never forgotten it.  Here is the poem since it is hard to see the words in the trees.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

WHAT MAKES PURPLE?

WHAT MAKES PURPLE?

When I think of purple - I think of violets, grape jelly, blueberries and butterflies.  Butterflies is what came about.  The butterflies are all different purples - I labeled all of them with the names of the purple markers I had- (there are some really creative names for purple).  All the Butterflies are going in the same direction except for two of them - Which brings us to the age old question "WHAT MAKES PURPLE?" 

 Blue and Red (magenta). I used flowers and glitter to finish off the piece.

Looking Into My Eyes

My littlest eyes are looking into my own - not only is she the one one out of 3 that has the brown eyes. She is so much like me.

3 is a Pair

This picture is about my 3 kids, who always will have each other (even when they feel they are alone or have nothing to do or don't know how to get along.). They always have one or the other a pair made out of three. 
  I took up close pictures of each of them and completely distorted the pictures.  I Mod Podged everything together and then melted some plastic wrap (very carefully) on top of the picture to give and extra texture effect.

 I once again used DRY WAX PAPER (which I love to work with), to get some of the texture on the flowers I use glue mixed with paint and piped it on.  I use to decorate cakes so sometimes I use my old cake tools and techniques. I MOD PODGE the wax paper to a large tile with a lot of texture.

I used for the background DRY WAX PAPER with Permanent makers - the background image is from a piece of fabric swatch I found.  The Baby Shoe is drawn in CRAYON - both of my girls wore this slipper when they were babies.

The adding of the Butterfly is images that were in both of  my girls room when they were small. The Butterfly is on Watecolor Paper and I used Watercolor Pencils.

The Letter A is the last letter in both of their names. I felt that it completed the picture, because today only one likes pink and the other think it is an ugly color and wants nothing to do with it.
